WINE TRAIL THROUGH THE TRI-VALLEY
The Livermore Valley Wine Country anchors the Tri-Valley Wine Trail—a scenic loop dotted with family-run vineyards, organic estates, and tasting patios that invite you to stay a while. It’s an easygoing alternative to more crowded wine destinations. Where award-winning reds and crisp whites are poured with a personal touch. You can be new to wine or a seasoned sipper, the trail offers a refreshing blend of approachable tasting rooms, country roads, and wide-open views. More often than not – without the hefty tasting fees.

RETZLAFF VINEYARDS
Organic wines, picnic tables under big trees, a relaxed atmosphere. Need we say more?? Retzlaff Vineyards is what wine tasting should feel like. Bring snacks, stay awhile, and let the afternoon slow down. Retzlaff is where we go when we want to sip something great without making a big deal about it. Check out their events calendar for live music, food vendors, and more!

3 STEVES WINERY
Perched on a hilltop with sweeping views of the Livermore Valley, 3 Steves Winery is a laid-back spot that feels both personal and playful. Founded by three friends—yes, all named Steve—it’s a winery with heart, humor, and seriously good reds. The tasting patio is casual and scenic, perfect for lingering over a flight while soaking in the surrounding vineyards and distant ridgelines. It’s the kind of place where you might end up chatting with the winemakers, laughing with strangers, and staying longer than planned. Come for the wine, stay for the view and the vibe.
MUST-VISIT BREWERIES
If wine’s not your thing (or if you just want to mix it up), the Tri-Valley Beer Trail is full of hoppy surprises. From small-batch sours to classic West Coast IPAs, the trail connects local breweries with distinct personalities. It’s the perfect for a self-paced crawl or a post-hike pint. DANVILLE BREWING CO.
Right in the heart of Danville, this brewpub hits the sweet spot between casual and quality. The food’s solid, the beers are crushable, and it’s an easy stop whether you’re in hiking boots or brunch mode. Danville Brewing Co. makes it easy to linger—good beer, lively atmosphere, and just enough buzz to make it feel like Saturday, anytime.

ALTAMONT BEER WORKS
We stopped by for a post-hike pint, and the IPAs were as bold as the playlist. Altamont has serious beer cred in Livermore, but it’s still got a laid-back, garage-band energy. If you’re into West Coast hops, Altamont Beer Works is worth a stop. It feels like the kind of brewery where locals hang out and no one’s in a rush—and that’s part of the charm. Also, keep an eye out for the food truck rotation for some tasty eats!
RESTAURANTS & CAFES
From farm-to-table fare to globally inspired cuisine, the Tri-Valley’s food scene is as diverse as its landscape. Cozy brunch spots like Denica’s Real Food Kitchen serve up comforting homemade dishes. While Oyo brings the bold South American flavors of Guyana to Pleasanton. Whether you’re indulging in upscale Mexican cuisine at Posada Alta Cocina or pairing gastropub bites with local brews at Sons of Liberty Alehouse, there’s no shortage of delicious discoveries waiting for you.

SONS OF LIBERTY ALEHOUSE
After a mellow afternoon exploring downtown, Sons of Liberty hit the spot for dinner. Cozy, casual, and just elevated enough. Their beer and wine lists are solid, but the craft cocktails are even better. Plus it’s the kind of place where you can settle in without needing to change out of your trail shoes. If you’re ending the day hungry and want something with a little edge, Sons of Liberty has you covered.

POSADA ALTA COCINA
We stopped into Posada Alta Cocina after a morning spent cow cuddling nearby. Yes, you read that right. And this ended up being one of the most flavorful meals of the trip. The modern Latin dishes feel fresh and vibrant—perfect for a laid-back but memorable lunch. Ideal if you’re craving something a little different between adventures. And even though it’s still lunch, don’t skip out on their handmade craft cocktails!

SIDEBOARD and DENICA’S REAL FOOD KITCHEN
We started the morning at Sideboard, where the coffee is strong and the breakfast menu leans into cozy comfort. There’s a rustic charm to the place, like you stumbled into someone’s kitchen in the best way. Denica’s Real Food Kitchen is a family-run spot that nails that balance between hearty and homemade. We grabbed breakfast here before heading to Del Valle, and the portions (and breakfast drinks) did not disappoint.

THE PRESS
Tucked into downtown Livermore, The Press is our go-to for a solid latte and a light bite. It’s low-key, stylish, and ideal for a quick morning stop before hitting the trail or market. If you like your mornings mellow and your coffee strong, The Press delivers. It’s small but welcoming, and their Nordic Toastini somehow makes you feel like you’re doing something right.

OYO
Dinner at Oyo is a mini getaway all its own. Their Caribbean-influenced dishes are bold and full of flavor, and the space feels upbeat and colorful—like an instant mood-lifter after a day outside. Oyo is a great choice when you’re ready for something vibrant and different. We ended the day there with cocktails and plates made for sharing—flavorful, unexpected, and totally worth a detour.
EAT WELL, NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED
As you can see, you’ll find no shortage of incredible eats in the Tri-Valley! Foodies will find that the variety goes far beyond the typical fare and can discover truly unique flavors. So break out your stretchy pants because you’re going to need the room for all these delicious dishes!
That’s the beauty of the Tri-Valley: the best meals feel unplanned. Maybe it’s a flaky pastry after sunrise. Maybe it’s a laid-back lunch on a sunny patio. Or maybe a satisfying dinner that happens to come with a great local beer. You won’t find pretension here—just good food, casual charm, and places that welcome you as you are, trail dust and all.
